ALERT: Please be advised that effective October 8, 2024, City Council approved revisions to the Subdivision Ordinance and Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance. While Municode is in process of applying the revisions to each respective ordinance section, links to the newly adopted ordinance sections are available for your review below. If you have submitted a permit application beginning October 8, 2024, your permit will be reviewed against the newly adopted ordinances.

Development Services

The City of Winder’s Planning and Development Department is responsible for all land development activities within the City of Winder. Our service areas including land use planning, zoning, permitting, licensing, and inspection services.

Planning Services

The Department’s planning services function refers to a variety of long-range and strategic planning activities, ordinance development, grant administration, and special projects necessary to implement the City Council’s vision for land use, growth, and development within the City of Winder. Additionally, the department ensures that all requirements of Federal and State law regarding land use planning and implementation are fulfilled.

Additionally, the Department initiates or participates in a variety of jurisdiction specific planning projects aimed at delivering short- and long-term implementation strategies and policy recommendations to achieve sustainable and quality growth within the City of Winder.
