Effective June 1, 2024, the City adopted an ordinance establishing an Entertainment District for the City of Winder. These regulations allow restaurants within the district to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption in the public realm within the district’s boundaries. The boundaries include N. Broad Street, E. Midland Avenue, E. Candler Street, Park Avenue, E. Athens Street and Laura Street.

No alcoholic beverage purchased within the Entertainment District may be consumed on any property used as a church, day care center or school.

Must be 21 years old to participate.

Patrons can carry alcoholic beverages in an approved container within the Entertainment District between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday, and between 12:00 p.m. and midnight (12:00 a.m.) on Friday and Saturday.

City of Winder establishments that allow patrons to leave their location with an alcoholic beverage must have an 8.5-inch by 11-inch sign posted at the door within public view so patrons exiting the establishment can read it. Restaurants must provide clear plastic cups, not to exceed 16 fluid ounces, for customers with their business logo affixed on the cup.
