Continuance Request

If you need a continuance of your court date, and you have not already requested one, it must be submitted in writing to the court and be approved by the judge. Your request must be received by our office at least 6 days prior to your original assigned court date. Your request MUST contain your name, citation number, email, address and phone number and the reason for the continuance. You can fax your request to (888) 266-5973 or email to court@cityofwinder.com.

  • You are still expected to appear in court on your original assigned court date until you are notified by ONE phone call and/or email from the court staff advising that the judge has approved or denied your request.
  • You are responsible for checking your messages

Request for Bench Trial

*Effective March 15, 2012 there is a Court Cost Fee-to assess a $75.00 court fee if a defendant is found Guilty, pleads Guilty or pleads Nolo on their trial date. If the defendant is found NOT Guilty or pleads prior to their trial date, for example, during arraignments, there will be no fee assessed.

 

Forms of Payment

  • NO PERSONAL OR BUSINESS CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED
  • If your citation does NOT require a mandatory court appearance, and if you do not wish to come to court, payment MUST be received by 5pm the date of your court date.
  • Accepted Methods of Payment: Cash, Money Order, Certified Check, Credit/Debit Card (Visa or MasterCard Only)

 

THERE WILL BE A 3% FEE ADDED TO ALL CREDIT/DEBIT CARD TRANSACTIONS

PAY ONLINE: Online Payments MAY take up to 48 hours to process. If paying on your court date, be aware that the 48 hour processing period MAY result in failure to appear fee on your citation. All Payments will have an added 3% processing fee as well as a $2.50 Municipal Court Fee.

PAYING BY MAIL: Money order/certified check – make payable to: City of Winder 
Mail payments to: P.O. Box 566 Winder, GA 30680
