Taffy McCormick
Councilwoman Taffy McCormick loves Winder.
She and her husband Dan made the decision to move to the area seven years ago, when they found their dream home, a historical fixer-upper in a charming small town.
The McCormick’s three children and six grandchildren relocated to the City of Opportunity and now their forever home serves as a vibrant hub of family celebrations, after school playdates, and neighborhood socials.
Taffy’s professional pursuits range from strategic marketing initiatives for global brands to entrepreneurship.
After becoming a grandparent, McCormick’s priorities shifted to focusing on her family’s needs and on revitalizing single-family homes in the City of Winder with the help of her husband.
Throughout her life McCormick has always carved out time for community activism. In addition to volunteer work associated with raising three active children, she has spent countless hours advocating for the health and wellbeing of children in Foster Care.
McCormick dedicates time for helping elderly homeowners navigate property taxes while living on fixed incomes, and she strongly advocates to bring customers to shop, work, and enjoy Winder’s local businesses.
Taffy and her husband, Dan, have been married for 37 years. They have three adult children, six grandchildren in Barrow County Schools, and two precious pups that are highly skilled at sleeping on the front porch.
