FIRE PREVENTION / SAFETY EDUCATION
Winder Fire is proud to provide a variety of services to the citizens of our community. These community services include:

  • Business Inspections
  • Fire Prevention/Safety Classes at the station
  • Fire Prevention Classes in the community, schools, and preschools
  • Fire Extinguisher Classes
  • Downtown Walk Around
  • Education of officers and firefighters regarding Fire Prevention and Fire Safety.

Empty Stocking Toy Drive
Empty Stocking Toy Drive

The annual Empty Stocking Toy Drive is a 365-day operations accepting unwrapped toy donations year-round to distribute to children in the Winder-Barrow Community during Christmas. Winder Fire, with mascot, Sparky and Santa collect around town the first Saturday in December. Annual Give Burns the Boot Golf Tournament
WFD Annual Golf Tournament
Winder Fire Department hosts the annual Give Burns the Boot Golf Tournament at Chimneys Golf Course. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation (GFBF), an organization that sponsors Camp Oo-U-la, a week long summer camp for burn injured children at Ft. Camp Oo-U-La at Fort Yargo

Oo-u-La, which literally translated from native American mean 'cool running water,' is a one-week camp hosted at Ft. Yargo’s Camp Twin Lakes. Winder Fire’s annual golf tournament at Chimneys Golf Course donates proceeds to support the Georgia Burn Foundation who sponsor the annual Camp for children who have been burned and their siblings.
