  • UPDATED Public Notice City of Winder Budget 2017

    On Monday, June 27, 2016, the proposed budget of the City of Winder for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017 will be submitted by the Mayor to the City Council for consideration. Beginning June 27, 2016, the proposed budget will be available for inspection at no cost inside the Winder Customer Center, 45 East Athens Street, between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

    The City of Winder hosts several activities throughout the year that bring thousands of people to our community. Many are locals, but lots of people come from out of town—and out of town guests who come to Winder help boost our local economy, promote our great and growing city, and help to put Winder on the map as a destination and a place to live, work and play. The festivals committee now offers partnerships specifically designed for small businesses, individuals and organizations who would like to be part of the Community of Winder in its efforts of preserving community events; to help them grow and to support local vendors, craftsmen and musicians.

  • ESG Operations & City of Winder Receive Multiple Awards

    ESG Operations, Inc. and the City of Winder received multiple awards at yesterday evening’s Winder City Council meeting from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) for the operation of the City of Winder’s water and wastewater treatment facilities. Earnest Earn, Vice President of the GAWP, presented the awards.

  • RFP: Winder Block Improvements

    Winder Block Improvements Separate sealed Bids for the construction of Winder Block Improvements will be received by the City of Winder, Georgia on the 2nd floor of Winder City Hall located at 25 East Midland Avenue, Winder, Georgia 30680 until 2:00 P.M. local time, June 16, 2016, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. The project generally consists of streetscape improvements bound by Woodlawn Avenue, West Athens Street, North Broad Street, and West Candler Street, including parking lot improvements, landscaping, and storm drainage improvements. The deadline for bidder’s questions is five (5) business days prior to the bid opening.

  • Winder Police Officers Now Equipped with Overdose Reversal Drug

    The City of Winder Police Department trained its entire staff of police officers, along with several civilian employees, this week on the use of an opioid reversal drug thanks to the assistance of the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) Foundation and their “Think About It” and “Project DAN” initiatives. DAN is an acronym for Deaths Avoided by Naloxone. Think About It is an initiative to raise awareness of, and reduce, prescription drug abuse.
