The Winder Community Center was established in 1998. The building and the property surrounding it were a gift to the City of Winder by the Duckhead Apparel Company. Under the direction of Mayor Buddy Ouzts and the Winder City Council, city employees transformed the old warehouse into a multi-purpose events facility which serves as the City Council Chambers. Antique furnishings, elegantly framed oil prints, massive floral arrangements and plush upholstered pieces set on deep pile area rugs complement the original hardwood flooring.

Three separate areas provide accommodations for variety of City of Winder events. The Boardroom holds approximately 37 attendees and the Conference Room holds approximately 63 attendees. The Board and Conference Rooms combined hold approximately 100 attendees and the Banquet Room comfortably seats 300. The Community Center includes a caterer’s kitchen with a commercial refrigerator and a commercial food warmer.

Adjacent to the Veterans Memorial Park and the Jug Tavern Park, the Winder Community Center serves as the City Council Chambers and serves as the location of most City of Winder meetings.
