This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned facilities. This includes routine cleaning tasks, minor maintenance, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. Through the chain of command reports to the Director of Public Works.

Essential Job Duties and Functions:
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, locker rooms for City facilities.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures and equipment.
• Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors, including multiple surfaces i.e. carpet, tile, vinyl, etc.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces. 
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waster properly.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. 
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• The ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good physical stamina and strength.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.

License and Certifications Required:
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License and must maintain valid license and good driving record. 

 Qualification:
• High school graduation or equivalent. 
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
• Minimum of 21 years of age. 
• No felony convictions within the prior ten (10) years or while employed in the position. 
• A citizen of the Unites States or has obtained legal work status. 
• Must pass a detailed background investigation. 
• Work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
