Integrity & Corrosion Specialist

This position reports to the Construction and Maintenance Supervisor, or through the chain of command to the Utilities Director.

This position performs specialized duties in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the cathodic protection system. The purpose of this position is to assist in the maintenance and repair of the cathodic protection system.

Essential Duties and Functions:
• Repairs and maintains the cathodic protection system.
• Gathers data; prepares records and reports.
• Operates specialized testing equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs problems.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs system components.
• Performs pipeline surveys.
• Maintains rural dual pressure services.
• Trains and evaluates cathodic protection of the system to department employees.
• Works with management to design and implement future projects.
• Assess low readings, troubleshooting and repairing problems.
• Inspects exposed mains to determine compliance.
• Inspects cathodic protection equipment for proper operation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Licenses and Certifications Required:
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License and maintain valid license and good driving record.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain NACE level 1 certification (NACE level II preferred)

Qualifications:
• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• Five (5) years of general or specialized related experience.
• No felony convictions within the prior ten (10) years or while employed in the position.
• A citizen of the United States or has obtained legal work status.
• Must pass a detailed background investigation.
• Must be able to pass a credit check.
• Work evenings, weekends and/or holidays as required.
