Through the Chain of Command to the Code Enforcement Supervisor or the Director of Development Services. Under direction of the Code Enforcement Supervisor this position is responsible for the inspection, enforcement, an administration of applying city ordinances to private property, conducting on-site inspections, and handling administrative details. Work involves making independent technical decisions enforcing codes and ordinances. Performs related tasks to include issuing warnings and citations, responding to inquiries and concerns regarding code enforcement issues, appearing in court, and preparing related documents and reports.

- Code Enforcement Officer II
- Code Enforcement Officer I
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Possession of a valid Georgia Driver's License.
- Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) certified within three (3) months of hire.
Code Enforcement Officer II
- Possession of, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire, certification as a Code Enforcement Officer issued by the Georgia Association of Code Enforcement (GACE) Level I.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain within three (3) years of hire, certification as a Code Enforcement Officer issued by the Georgia Association of Code Enforcement (GACE) Level II.
Code Enforcement Officer I
- Possession of, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire, certification as a Code Enforcement Officer issued by the Georgia Association of Code Enforcement (GACE) Level I.
Full-Time regular employees are eligible for the City's benefit package.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of experience in code enforcement, law enforcement, building inspections, construction, or related operations.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Never been convicted of a felony.
- A citizen of the United States or has obtained legal work status.
- Must meet department's psychological and background requirements.
- Must be able to pass a credit check.
- Work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
- Must attend annual training to maintain certification.
