Veterans Day Ceremony

Veterans Day is a time to honor and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country. The City of Winder recognizes the sacrifices made by its veterans and wishes to celebrate their legacy with a special event at the esteemed Cultural Arts Building.

This year’s event is particularly special as we welcome Terry Manning, a Navy veteran with a profound respect for our nation's history, to speak at the ceremony. Manning, who served with distinction aboard the USS O'Hare, is not only a retired Auditor-in-Charge from the Department of Veterans Affairs but also a noted historian and speaker.

Manning will don the persona of one of America’s Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin.

His talk will focus on the critical role of compromise in the approval of the U.S. Constitution and its relevance in today’s world.

Following the theme of unity and service, veterans who attend the ceremony will be offered a complimentary lunch to thank them for their unwavering dedication to our country. Additional culinary delights will be available for purchase from the South of Philly food truck, ensuring that all attendees can enjoy a taste of community fellowship.
