The City of Winder recently revised and adopted a new sign ordinance. The changes in the sign ordinance are highlighted in BLUE throughout the attached Sign Ordinance. Some of the major revisions are as follows;
Section 230.16: Signs Which Require No Permit,
Item 3. Window signs not to cover or obscure more than 20% of window area;
Section 230.17: Prohibited Signs and Devices,
Item L. Animated; Flashing Signs,
Animated signs and flashing signs are prohibited. Electronic reader boards and changeable copy signs may change once per minute / 60 seconds if located within one hundred fifty (150) feet of a road right of way.
Section 230.23: Sign Height,
A. Height Requirements
The height of a sign at its highest point above the level of the ground may be no greater than five (5) feet in A-1, A-2, R-1, R-1A, R-1B, R-2, R-3, MH and TNPD districts and not greater than twenty (20) feet in B-1, B-2, P, I and E districts.
